Day care is a caring and secure environment where all children enjoy the friendship of others, have a happy and rewarding time and reach their full potential through praise and encouragement.
Day care opening hours are as follows:
- Monday to Friday 7:45am to 6.00pm.
- We provide a full year service closing only for the Christmas week, New Year and all statutory Bank Holidays.
- There are 6 seperate age ranges within the centre
Baby Room and Waddler Room
The baby room and waddler room offers full and part time care to babies aged from 3 months to approximately 12 months and the waddlers from 12months to 2 years of age. High staff / child ratios are maintained to ensure children are given the level of individual attention needed to promote development. We strive to offer babies and toddlers a nurturing environment where they feel loved, secure and content.
Toddler Room
The toddler room offers care to children aged 24 months to 3 years appromimately on a full and part time basis. A wide variety of age appropriate activities are on offer with an emphasis on exploring sensory experiences. Staff work closely with parents to ensure each child's individual needs are met and routines are adapted to suit e.g toilet training needs.
2 Year old Programme
The programme for 2 year olds has been devised for children aged 2 years and 2 months and runs for 2.5 hours per sessions for a maximum of 3 sessions per week.
The programme was devised to enhance children's social development, build on their communication and language skills and encourage imagination through play.
The Dry Arch Playgroup
The aim of the playgroup is to provide appropriate play experiences, learning opportunities and adult support to help each individual child. The curriculum is planned around the following six Early Learning Goals:
- Physical Development
- Early Mathematical Experiences
- Language
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- The Arts
- The World Around Us
Out Of Schools Rooms
There are two rooms in the out of schools facility which offers care for children aged between 4 to 12 years of age.
- Sunshine Room (4 - 7 years)
- Rainbow Room (8 - 12 years)
The Dry Arch Centre also offers a Holiday Club for children aged between 4 - 12 years of age. Children can take part in the following types of activities:
- Cookery
- Swimming
- Bike Rides
- Big Screen Cinema
- Various Games
Parents will be happy in the knowledge that their child is being cared for in a safe environment.
Holiday Clubs
The Dry Arch Children's Centres also offers holiday clubs for children aged between 4 - 11 years. Children will be able to take part in activities such as the following:
- Cookery
- Swimming
- Bike Rides
- Big Screen Cinema
- Various Games
Parents will be able to leave their children in the knowledge that they are being cared for in a safe environment.
Breakfast Club
The Dry Arch Centre offers a breakfast club to all children who attend schools and need care prior to school commencing at 9am.
Children can be dropped off at the breakfast club from 7.45am and if they attend a local school we can offer transport in our bus. A healthy breakfast will be provided to all children who attend. Children can have a choice of cereal, fruit or toast along with a drink of milk, fruit juice or water.
Prices for the breakfast club and transport to school can be discussed with the Day Care Manager.
